How We Recruit at Scoro: A Sneak Peek Inside

At Scoro, finding the right people is more than just checking boxes. It’s about aligning with our values and adding to our culture and team. If you’re curious about our recruitment process, you’re in the right place. Here’s a sneak peek at our steps and what we look for in candidates.

Scoro’s Hiring Values

At Scoro, our hiring approach is rooted in our core values, helping us select candidates who share our mission and fit our culture:

  • We are reasonable: We value open communication, respect candidates’ time, and keep things transparent. We’ll let you know if it’s not the right match.
  • We are structured: Our process is clear and efficient, with each step serving a purpose. We move fast without compromising quality.
  • We are a team: We involve the team in the process to ensure the right fit for both sides. This helps candidates get to know the company and team better.
  • We are innovative: We are always looking for ways to make our process smoother and more transparent. With candidates’ permission, we use AI tools to help us stay focused during interviews and keep everything organized.
  • We are high-performing: We encourage every hire to bring their strengths to the team and aim for excellence together.

We embody these values in our selection process and communication with candidates, treating each one respectfully and fairly. We kindly ask candidates to show us the same respect by letting us know if they’re no longer interested.

Getting to Know the Recruitment Steps at Scoro

Our recruitment process might have a few steps, but each has a clear purpose—for us and you. Hiring is a two-way street. While we’re figuring out if you’re the right fit for our team, you’re also exploring if Scoro is the right place for your career goals and values.

Each step is designed to give you a glimpse into our culture, the team you might join, and the work you’ll be doing.

1. Reviewing Your Application

The first step is reviewing your application to assess how well your skills and experience align with the role. We get hundreds of applications, so standing out is key. How can you do that?

A short, personalized answer to the question, “Why are you interested in Scoro and this role?” goes a long way. Sure, tools like ChatGPT can help, but reading copy-paste answers gets old fast. Instead, write a few honest sentences about your real motivation. It’ll put you miles ahead of the crowd.

Tailoring your resume is essential. Why? Because recruiters need to see if your skills align with the role. If your resume doesn’t highlight your strengths and relevant experience, it could be overlooked in favour of more targeted applications.

2. Chat with Our Recruiter

Next, you’ll have a friendly video chat with one of our recruiters. This usually takes about 30 minutes and is all about getting to know you better. We’ll cover the basics—your expectations, motivation, and key skills. At the same time, we’ll share more about Scoro, the team, and the recruitment process. The goal? To make sure we’re on the same page before moving forward.

3. Interview with Your Future Manager

This is where things get more serious. You’ll have a longer chat with your potential manager to dive deeper into your experience. You’ll also better understand what daily life at Scoro looks like and what we expect from you. This is one of the most important steps in the process, so it’s a good idea to come prepared. Know why you’re excited about the role, and don’t hold back—show us your best version!

We recommend checking out our product and signing up for a trial before this round. While it’s a key step in the process, we aim to keep the conversation relaxed and not overly formal.

4. Home Assignment & Cognitive Test

All of our hiring processes include a home assignment and an online cognitive test.

The home assignment shows us how you handle typical situations. Depending on the role, it could be a presentation, a role-play, or a written task. It helps us understand your thought process, how you take feedback, and how open you are to learning.

We also ask you to complete a mental ability test, part of every hiring process. It helps us evaluate your skills, compare candidates, and spot areas where you can grow once you’re on board. While it sounds intimidating, it can be an excellent way for you to discover your own strengths.

5. Meet the Team

Last but not least, you’ll meet your potential future team and closest colleagues. This is your chance to better understand their daily work and personalities. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to ask them any questions you might have. These chats are usually more relaxed and informal.

For executive roles, you’ll also have a separate conversation with our CEO to get that final thumbs up.

6. Reference Check and Offer

Lastly, we’ll check your references. If everything goes well, we’ll extend an offer! Once that’s all set, we’ll hand you over to our People Operations Specialist, who will take care of the documentation and start preparing for your onboarding process.

The Traits We Seek in Candidates

At Scoro, we carefully select our teammates, looking for qualities aligning with our values and culture during applications and interviews.

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Innovative and Problem-Solvers: You challenge the status quo and always ask, “Why?” You’re not afraid to try new things.
  • Team Players: You’re collaborative, always ready to contribute ideas, and support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Good at Time Management: You manage your time well, stay focused, and get things done efficiently—especially with our 4-day work week.
  • Comfortable in a Hybrid/Remote Setup: You’re confident communicating in English with colleagues from different cultures and comfortable using your camera in meetings to make everyone feel included.
  • Proactive: You take initiative and always look for ways to improve and move things forward.
  • Passionate: You’re excited about productivity, our product, and helping people and organizations thrive.

If you resonate with these traits, you’re off to a great start!
